Blue Green Algae has bloomed at Lake Lyell with a red alert issued by the NSW Office of Water
Following the recent warmer weather, the latest results issued by the NSW Office of Water have indicated that Blue Green Algae levels have risen at Lake Lyell. Consequently, a Red Alert has been put in place.
A Red Alert at Lake Lyell means that it is currently not suitable for any activities that involve direct contact with the water by humans or animals.
Weekly sampling of the Lake will continue and an updated alert status will be reported if the situation improves.
Lake Wallace also remains on Red Alert with the same restrictions on activities that involve direct contact with the water by humans or animals.
