The regular free bulky waste collection conducted by Lithgow City Council is about to take place again and residents are encouraged to take advantage of the free service.
Council provides a free bulky waste collection service twice a year with the final one for 2015 year scheduled for the 14th September.
Lithgow Mayor Councillor Maree Statham said, “Council’s free bulky waste collection provides residents with the opportunity to tidy up around their property. All people have to do is leave any bulky waste at the kerbside near where they would normally place their garbage bin and notify Council of the waste.”
Bulky items will be collected providing they can be picked up by two men and any cases, boxes, cartons etc should be securely tied. No liquid or chemical items will be collected, nor will any items requiring the use of a shovel.
Councillor Statham added “I urge residents to take advantage of this service which Council is pleased to provide to the community.”
Anyone who wishes to take advantage of this service should, by midday on Friday the 11 September 2015, contact Council’s Customer Service Office on 6354 9999 or alternatively they may register on Council’s website www.council.lithgow.com (by midday 11 September 2015). Then, on the night before Monday 14th September 2015, leave their bulky waste adjacent to where they would normally place their garbage bin for pickup.
To provide environmental leadership and ‘Enhancing our Natural Environment’ Strategies in the Community Strategic Plan 2026 by managing and providing green waste recycling within the Lithgow Local Government area.
