The warmer weather has come and gone so quickly, so now it is time to prepare for the upcoming changes from summer sports to winter sports.
Owing to the high demand of Field No. 1 from rugby league, both seniors and juniors, it is necessary to carry out annual top dressing of the Tony Luchetti No. 1 Field.
Depending on weather, top dressing should be carried out during the next week.
The top dressing provides a lift to the grass surface as well as filling any small holes that may have been caused and could be a safety issue to users.
Also, top dressing will be carried out on the Jim Monaghan Athletics Track at the same time.
“Council staff will be working hard on all other sporting fields within Lithgow, Wallerawang and Portland to make sure they are prepared for the upcoming season” said Lithgow City Council Mayor, Councillor Maree Statham.
Developing recreational facilities to meet the needs of the community now and into the future is part of Council’s Recreational Facilities Strategy in the Community Strategic Plan 2026.
