Community Worm Farm and Composting Workshop Returning in 2018

Worm Farm

In 2017, Lithgow City Council provided a free community worm farm and composting workshop to local residents to assist them in managing their own organic waste. Due to the popularity and highly positive feedback on this workshop, Lithgow City Council is offering a follow-up workshop for residents who missed out last year.

This hour-long workshop will be held on the 5th February 2018 from 4-5pm at Lithgow library and will provide residents with information on a range of topics, including:

  • How composts and worm farms can benefit your garden and reduce your waste
  • Setting up your own worm farm or compost system (including a practical demonstration of a ‘do it yourself’ worm farm)
  • What can go into your worm farm or compost system
  • Tips for maintaining your worm farm or compost system and solutions for common problems

Refreshments will be provided, and all attendees will go into the draw to win a free worm farm as a lucky door prize on the day. For residents interested in attending, please contact Council’s Environmental Educators, EnviroCom, by no later than 1st February on (02) 9724 3889. Bookings are essential.
