Construction of Rail Overbridge, Wallerawang

Changes to traffic flows are expected with the commencement of the construction of the Wallerawang Rail Overbridge substructure.

A planned closure of the west bound lane of Main Street, Wallerawang is to occur on Monday and Tuesday, 15 and 16 June 2015. This closure will provide temporary holding bays for trucks delivering the precast planks for the deck of the new Rail Overbridge. This closure will commence on Monday morning and finish by 6pm the next day.

The west bound lane of Pipers Flat Road directly adjacent to the construction site entrance will also be closed on an as needed basis. These closures will occur for short periods between Monday 15th of June and Thursday 18th of June. Lanes will be re-opened once the trucks depart.

Construction of the bridge is continuing smoothly and once the piling works have been completed, the placement of these precast components will commence.

Residents are urged to note the change in traffic conditions and exhibit caution while travelling through the area.

The provision of safe, efficient and effective networks to transport people and goods within and through the Lithgow Local Government Area is a primary objective of Council’s Bridge Management Program in the 2012-2022 Strategic Asset Management Plan.
