Council Financial Assistance Program Opens

Applications are now being sought from not-for-profit organisations to fund local community projects and activities under Council’s Financial Assistance Program.

Local community organisations are being encouraged to apply for funding under the first round of Council’s 2015/16 Financial Assistance Program. “The Financial Assistance Program offers grants up to $3,000 to community organisations to help them with local projects and activities that demonstrate a broad community benefit,” said Lithgow City Council Mayor, Councillor Maree Statham.

Some examples of Financial Assistance requests that Council may assist with include:

  • Equipment for community and sporting organisations
  • Youth projects and events
  • Projects that support families and children
  • Cultural activities
  • Program costs for local services or events

“Each year Council allocates funding to a number of worthwhile community groups for programs, services and events that strengthen and enrich our community and I would like to remind organisations that applications for Round 1 close on 30 April 2015,” concluded the Mayor.

All requests for Financial Assistance must be on the official Financial Assistance Application Form.  Application forms and guidelines can be obtained by visiting Council’s website or they can be picked up from Council’s Administration Centre and Library branches in Lithgow, Wallerawang and Portland, or by contacting Council to have one sent by post.

Further information about Council’s Financial Assistance program can be obtained from Council’s Community Development Officer on 6354 9999.

Improving the quality of life of Lithgow’s residents forms part of Council’s Caring for our Community strategies in the Community Strategic Plan 2026.
