E-Waste collection now available at Lithgow Waste Facility

The introduction of a new E-Waste collection service at the Lithgow Solid Waste Facility is set to further reduce the amount of waste going to Landfill making the Lithgow Local Government Area a greener city

A new E-Waste collection facility has been provided at the Lithgow solid waste depot which will provide residents with a convenient drop off point for all their redundant the E-Waste.

“This is a fantastic initiative with all the collected E-waste being transported to Sydney. It will then be processed under the National Television and Computer Recycling Scheme with up to 90% recovery rates “said Lithgow Council Mayor Councillor Maree Statham.

Councillor Statham added “Ultimately this means less waste entering our Local landfills and hopefully less E-waste being illegally dumped.”

Residents should bring any unwanted E-Waste such as computers, monitors, mobile phones, televisions and general electrical goods to Lithgow Waste Facility during normal operating hours Monday to Sunday to drop off their E-waste. There is a large shipping container in place where items can be deposited. This is a free service offered by Council.
