“Elements of Abstraction” a Lithgow City Council Art Collection Exhibition

A collection of abstract art works, referencing the four elements of earth, water, wind and fire, from the Lithgow City Council Art Collection will be exhibited in the “Elements of Abstraction” Exhibition at Eskbank House and Museum from 1 April to 3 May 2015.

“There is a variety of art genres in our collection,” said Lithgow City Council Mayor Maree Statham. “This exhibition showcases the quality abstract art that we have collected and is beautifully suited to the sandstone Courtyard Gallery at Eskbank House.”

The exhibition will feature paintings in abstract styles that explore the concept of the four elements of earth, water, wind and fire. The artists have used colour, texture, shape and composition to explore the idea of the elements in abstract forms.

The exhibition will run from 1 April to 3 May 2015 in the Courtyard Gallery of Eskbank House and Museum. The community is invited to join the Mayor at the official opening at 4.00pm on Friday 10 April 2015.

Providing a range of programs celebrating the cultural diversity and rich heritage of our local government area is part of Council’s Caring for our Community strategies in the Community Strategic Plan 2026.
