Eskbank House Garden Party

Experience the delight of a 1920s garden party in the beautiful grounds at Eskbank House as part of the Roaring 20’s Weekend in Lithgow.

“I can’t imagine a more delightful way to spend a Sunday afternoon than wondering around Eskbank House gardens with high tea, music, sports and dressing up,” said Lithgow City Council Mayor Maree Statham. “All the entertainment and catering has been provided by Lithgow locals making this an extra special event for our area.”

The afternoon will commence with a “Living Gallery” in the Bracey Rooms of Eskbank House. Lithgow Living History will bring alive a tea party held for their friends by the Mortlocks who lived in Eskbank House in the 20s. Find out what was happening in politics, movies, food and Lithgow town at the time and take all the pictures you wish of this wonderful re-enactment group. Lithgow Car Club will be providing us with three of their 1920s cars to add to the drama and atmosphere and there will be a 1920’s motorbike to view as well.

Juzt Jazz Duo, locals Glenda Phipps and Brian Wilkinson, will be entertaining us the whole afternoon with tunes to get everyone’s feet tapping and if you don’t know how to step it out already Lithgow Living History will be teaching us a few dances later in the afternoon.

For those who like to be hands on there will be croquet with the Lithgow Croquet Club and a chance to have a hit at totem tennis or a throw at quoits. Chess, cards and darts will also be available.

We will all stop at 4pm for a scrumptious high tea by the Ladies of the Vale. Cupcakes, sandwiches, pastries, punch and tea served on delightful crockery in the beautifully decorated gardens of Eskbank House. Dressing up is encouraged!

Tickets for the whole afternoon are only $30 for adults, with children 5 to 12 $15 and children under 5 free.

For those who are going to the Gowns and Glamour Ball the evening before (14 February) tickets to the Garden Party are just half price making it a wonderful weekend of glamour for only $104.

All tickets available at Lithgow Visitors Information Centre. Call 1300 76 02 76 for more information and bookings.
