Australia Day 2015
Lithgow City Council is once again hosting an array of events across the local government area this Australia Day – Monday 26 January 2015.
Lithgow – Queen Elizabeth Park
Australia Day Activities get underway at 2.30pm with a performance by the Lithgow Highland Pipe Band, damper and tea with the Lions Club and free children’s rides.
The official Australia Day Ceremony starts at 3.30pm and includes the NSW Local Citizenship Awards, the Citizenship Ceremony and a speech by our Australia Day Ambassador, Para Olympian swimmer, Michael Auprince.
Following the ceremony the fun continues until 7.30pm. There will be entertainment by Martin Doherty, Leigh Burkett and Courtney Clark. The children’s rides will continue and the Lions Club will serve up a free barbeque.

When: 2.30pm – 7.30 pm (Ceremony at 3.30pm)
Entry to the Lithgow Aquatic Centre will be all day with a giant water slide between 11am and 3pm.
The Wallerawang and Lidsdale Progress Association will host the Australia Day Celebrations, with a guest speaker, BBQ, market stalls, raffles, music and lots more.

When: 10.30am -2.30pm (Ceremony at 11.00am)
Portland will have entertainment, markets, music and lots of activities for the whole family. The Official Australia Day Ceremony will commence at 12noon.
Where: Wolgan Street, Portland
When: 10.30am – Ceremony at 12pm
Australia Day at Rydal commences at 4pm. Rydal Village has a number of activities including the Billy Cart Races, free sausage sizzle, gum boot throwing competition, yabbie races and a tug of war for children and adults.
The Flag Raising Ceremony is at 5pm. For those participating in the Billy Cart races they must be home made and helmets are essential.
