Final Green Waste Collection of the Year

Final Green Waste Collection of the Year

Lithgow residents are encouraged to take advantage of Lithgow Council’s final green waste collection of 2015.

The final free green waste collection service of 2015 is scheduled for the week commencing 7 December 2015 and bookings are being taken by Lithgow Council.

“All people have to do is register and then leave any green waste at the kerbside near where they would normally place their garbage bin.” said Lithgow City Council Mayor, Councillor Maree Statham.

There are some rules to participate.  Council’s contractor, JR Richards will pick up:

  • Garden pruning’s no longer than 2 metre and not thicker than 200 mm, tied in bundles
  • Lawn clippings and leaves must be placed in a durable container, cardboard box or hessian/plastic bag
  • A weight limit of 16 kilograms for each bundle or box applies
  • Quantity of one cubic metre, which is equivalent to about 4 wheelie bins allowed per premises

Anyone who wishes to take advantage of this service should contact Council’s Customer Service Office on 6354 9999 or register on Council’s website by midday on Friday the 4 December 2015. Then, on the night before Monday 7 December 2015, leave their green waste adjacent to where they would normally place their garbage bin for pickup.
