It will be business as usual over the Queen’s birthday long weekend for garbage and recycling services.
Lithgow Council has advised that garbage and recycling collections will occur as normal over the June long weekend.
“The garbage and recycling collection service will occur as normal on the Monday of the long weekend and residents whose collection day it is should put their bins out as usual. All landfills will also be open as normal” said Lithgow Mayor, Councillor Maree Statham.
“Also, whilst enjoying this long weekend don’t forget to recycle any glass, aluminium cans and cardboard you might have by placing them in your bin with the yellow lid” concluded Mayor Statham.
Implementing the waste management hierarchy of avoidance, reuse, recycle and dispose forms part of the Developing Built Environment strategies in the Lithgow Community Strategic Plan 2026.
