Residents of Hillcrest Estate will see a number of new trees planted along James O’Donnell Drive in coming weeks as part of Council’s Streetscape Maintenance program.
The species of trees were selected by Council in consultation with the residents of Hillcrest Estate and purchased locally. A number of trees known as ‘Claret Ash’ were selected by residents and will make a spectacular show on the entrance to the Estate once established.
“I am very pleased to see the community getting involved in such a worthwhile project and the selection of these trees will create a stunning entrance to the estate” said Lithgow City Council Mayor, Councillor Maree Statham.
Undertaking streetscape improvements through the planting of trees enhances public amenity which is part of Council’s Parks & Gardens Strategy in the Community Strategic Plan 2026.
