Learn To Swim Program at JM Robson Aquatic Centre

Term 2 of Council’s Learn to Swim Program at JM Robson Aquatic Centre is coming to an end and limited enrollments are available for Term 3.

Swimming and water safety are crucial skills for life that will help to protect children as they enter adulthood and are exposed to more hazardous water environments.

“Swimming lessons should be seen as an essential activity” Mayor of Lithgow, Councillor Stephen Lesslie said.

Council will be offering morning sessions on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and afternoon sessions from Monday to Friday for babies from 6 months, school aged children, adults and people with a disability.

Parents, guardians and carers can apply for a $100 voucher per calendar year for each student enrolled in school with the NSW Government’s Active Kids program.

JM Robson Aquatic Centre is an approved Active Kids Provider and the voucher may be used for its learn to swim program.

“Swimming is a skill for life, especially living in a water loving country like Australia” added Councillor Lesslie.

Providing quality recreational facilities for a healthy, vibrant and harmonious community is part of Council’s Community & Built Environment Strategies in the Community Strategic Plan 2028.
