LJ Hooker Reg Cowden Memorial Sports Star of the Year Awards – September 2015 Winners

The winners of the LJ Hooker Reg Cowden Memorial Sports Star of the Year Awards for the month of September 2015 have been announced by Lithgow City Council.

Mayor of Lithgow, Councillor Maree Statham said “The Junior Award for September 2015 was won by Lithgow High 2015 Side (Hockey).”

“Lithgow High has won the Combined High School (CHS) hockey knockout, defeating Kiama 3-1 and earning the state title. The knockout, held at Moorebank, saw the best eight teams that had advanced to the quarter finals battle it out. The Lithgow High 2015 side consisted of Clare Bosman, Katie Dowler, Madison Haddon, Jessie Luchetti, Maggie O’Bree, Erin Trudgett, Amy Capaldi, Amy Dewar, Bonnie Goodsell, Keely Newham, Josana Stockdale, Abby Wilson, Tiana Anderson, Brianna Muir, Mikayla Newcombe and Kellsey Charlton.”

“There was no Senior Award nominations for the month of September 2015 received.”

“Council extends its congratulations to Lithgow High 2015 Side on their achievements, and further encourages the community and local sporting organisations to submit nominations for these awards” added Councillor Statham.

Nominations for outstanding sporting achievements in October & November 2015 will be accepted by Lithgow City Council until 7th December 2015.
