Visual Arts Students from Lithgow High School participating in the Lithgow Halloween multimedia mentoring program experienced a behind the scenes look at Vivid Sydney light, music and ideas event.
Robbie Park, Lithgow City Council’s Event Coordinator in collaboration with Lithgow High School has developed the Halloween multimedia mentoring program including a work experience observation and meet the lighting designers during the final setup at this years Vivid Sydney event.
“The Lithgow Halloween event has well and truly developed into multifaceted community and educational event with an exciting multimedia mentoring program for Lithgow High School students.” said Lithgow City Council Mayor Maree Statham “I’m excited to see this great opportunity for our local High School students to experience and learn from industry professionals at this year’s Vivid Sydney festival.”
Lithgow High School’s Head of English and Drama Mr Brett Jeffers said “Lithgow High School aims to give educational opportunities to students in a number of settings and this project with the Lithgow City Council allows students unparalleled experience in the entertainment industry, developing their skills and knowledge, as well as making contact with industry professionals.”
The student’s taking part in the Halloween multimedia mentoring program will participate in creative workshops throughout the year and will develop some of the creative elements for the 2015 Lithgow Halloween event as part of the Visual Arts student’s major project for the year.
Providing a range of programs celebrating the cultural diversity and rich heritage of our local government area through the delivery of a diverse range of quality festivals and events is part of Council’s strategy to Care for our Community in the Community Strategic Plan 2025.
