Mitchell String Quartet Performing with Justin Screen at Eskbank House in August

Justin Screen will be performing with the Mitchell String Quartet in the Courtyard Gallery of Eskbank House and Museum on Friday 7 August 2015 starting at 7.30pm.

“What a wonderful way to spend an evening, listening to this beautiful music in the cosy ambience of Eskbank House’s Courtyard Gallery,” said Lithgow City Council Mayor Maree Statham. “I am very pleased that Council is building relationships withthe Mitchell Conservatorium of Music in bringing such quality cultural experiences to Lithgow.”

Mitchell String Quartet’s (MSQ) members, Andrew Baker, Nicholas Newell, Fiona Thompson and Sybbi Georgiou, have individually been presenting chamber music concerts in the central west for over 30 years. MSQ was launched in November 2014 at their inaugural and highly acclaimed Lithgow and Bathurst performances. MSQ is passionate about offering a high quality, beautiful, accessible and well known chamber music repertoire to Central West audiences, as a regular feature of their concert calendar. Justin Screen joins the Quartet for this program as clarinettist for Mozart’s beautiful Clarinet Quintet and Glazunov’s Oriental Reverie.

The evening’s program will include Alexander Borodin’s String Quartet No. 2 in D, Alexander Glazunov’s Oriental Reverie op.14 no.2 and Mozart’s Clarinet Quintet in A KV 581.

The concert will begin at 7.30pm at Eskbank House and Museum on Friday 7 August 2015. Tickets will be available at the door. Adults $30, Concession $20, Family of Four $80 and school aged MitCon students FREE.
