Modern technology has been called upon to assist local residents with their waste and recycling through the launch of a new App by Lithgow City Council.
Waste Info is a new App introduced by Lithgow Council to assist residents with their waste and recycling.
Lithgow Mayor Councillor Maree Statham announced today “Council is pleased to launch it’s new App, Waste info, which is now available for free download. The App provides a wide range of information to assist residents with their waste and recycling.”
The new App includes information on kerbside recycling days, items that can be recycled, locations of tips and transfer stations and what can be accepted at each facility.
“The App also features a reminder function for recycling collection days and problems can also be reported.” added Mayor Statham.
The App is available for free download from the Apple App Store and Google Play under Lithgow City Council Waste Info.
Implementing the waste management hierarchy of avoidance, reuse, recycle and disposal forms part of the Developing Built Environment strategies in the Lithgow Community Strategic Plan 2026.
