Lithgow City Council has allowed funds in its capital works budget for 2015/2016 for the replacement of the old weld mesh boundary fence around Conran Oval Cricket Field.
Works commenced today on the replacement of the old weld mesh fence with a new post and rail type fence with a mesh insert which will enhance Conran Oval Wicket and be provide a more suitable boundary for cricket.
“It’s good to see the ongoing commitment by Lithgow City Council to improving the sporting fields infrastructure in the Lithgow local government area by replacement of the old dilapidated fence at Conran Oval and therefore supporting the users such as local cricket” said Lithgow City Council Mayor, Councillor Maree Statham.
The fence is being installed by a local contractor and is funded through Council’s capital works budget. The cost is $22,000.
Developing recreational facilities to meet the needs of the community now and into the future is part of Council’s Recreational Facilities Strategy in the Community Strategic Plan 2026.
