Opening of the Indoor Pool

Dig those cossies out from the back of your wardrobe and head down to the new Lithgow Indoor Aquatic Centre which is opening its doors this Saturday, 16th May 2015 from 8am to 4pm and Sunday, 17th May 2015 from 10am to 4pm.

“There will be free entry for patrons of the new indoor pool on both days” said Councillor Maree Statham, Mayor of Lithgow City Council. “Winter season passes are now available for purchase from Council’s Administration Centre and will be available for purchase from Saturday, 16th May 2015 at the Lithgow Indoor Aquatic Centre. The winter season passes will be current until 31st October 2015″.

The Chair of the Indoor Aquatic Centre Committee, Councillor Ray Thompson, said “Aqua aerobics trial classes are organized for 11am and 1pm on both Saturday and Sunday with regular classes commencing on Monday, 18th May 2015 on the following days and times:

  • Monday at 9.30am
  • Tuesday at 6pm
  • Wednesday at 1.15pm (Seniors Class)
  • Thursday at 6pm
  • Friday at 7am
  • Saturday at 8.30am”

“If you would like to participate please call the Lithgow Indoor Aquatic Centre on 6350 3200 to register or just turn up ready to make a splash”.

“Council is anticipating to conduct Learn To Swim Lessons from the third school term so stay tuned” said Councillor Thompson.

“The old excuse just doesn’t apply anymore with the balmy 27°C – 28°C pool water and 21°C-22°C room and floor temperature”, said Councillor Thompson

“Kiosk facilities will be available for patrons on both days.”

“Council and Aquatic Centre staff are excited and looking forward to the start of a new season and have been training in anticipation of the new complex opening” concluded Councillor Thompson.
