With the Water main relocation now completed in Ordnance Avenue the remaining sealing works will commence in January 2015.
As part of Lithgow City Council’s 2015-16 capital works program, Ordnance Avenue, Lithgow has been identified as requiring remedial work in order to ensure the safety of road users and better serve the community.
To date, Council has upgraded the water services and some gas services and as such, a temporary seal has been applied to cover disturbed areas. In early February, Council will remove the seal in its entirety from the intersection of Malvern Street and Ordnance Avenue to the intersection of Methven Street and Ordnance Avenue.
Further remediation work will occur in January. This will include re-shaping the road to increase driver comfort and re-instatement of the sub-base to provide a more resilient road surface. Soon after, a robust application of hotmix will be reapplied to the entire refurbished subsurface in mid-February.
Residents are advised that traffic conditions may change in this area while works progress. Please exhibit caution and patience while travelling through the area.
Upgrading and maintain rural roads to an acceptable standard in accordance with the level of traffic use is part of Council’s Transport Strategy in the Community Strategic Plan 2026.
