The highly sought after title of being RV friendly has been officially bestowed upon the towns of Portland and Wallerawang.
The Recreational Vehicle (RV) market is one that is attractive to any town, given the financial clout wielded by the owners of these rigs and their tendency to stay in areas for prolonged periods of time.
“With the towns of Portland and Wallerawang gaining RV accreditation it will encourage more visitors to the area and I look forward to seeing the positive outcomes for both these towns that accreditation will bring” said Lithgow City Council Mayor Maree Statham. “This is the culmination of a couple of years of hard work and forward planning. There is a number of RV’s already frequenting the area and I look forward to the placement of Portland and Wallerawang on promotional material and the visitors it will bring”.
For any additional information regarding the camping at Lake Wallace or Kremer Park or about the accreditation please feel free to call Lithgow Visitor Information Centre on 1300 760 276.
Creating a strong tourism industry that maximises benefits from visitors to the LGA is a part of Council’s strategy to Strengthen our Economy in the Community Strategic Plan 2026.
