Council is seeking expressions of interest for the renaming of the following roads located within the Lithgow Local Government Area, as resolved in the Ordinary Meeting of Council held on 27 November 2017.
1. Existing Road Name: Old Western Road
Extent description: The southern portion of “Old Western Road” (approximately 3.229 kilometres in length) which is divided from the northern portion (for approximately 1.5 kilometres) by Railway Street and Sydney Road in the locality of Rydal NSW 2790.
Proposed Road Name: Commissariat Road
Reasoning: The Commissariat for the Mount Walker Stockade was on the western side of Coxs River on this road.
2. Existing Road Name: Wards Road
Extent description: An existing privately owned and maintained Right of Carriageway (ROW) (approximately 1.653 kilometres in length) located off Wards Road Megalong Valley NSW 2785, which provides vehicular access to approximately nine (9) properties.
Proposed Road Name: Caloola Halt Road
Reasoning: This is the name of the original property from which the lots were subdivided.
Should any person wish to have input into the renaming of these roads, then written submissions will be accepted by Council up until Friday 16 March 2018. Please send your submissions to PO Box 19, Lithgow 2790. Any new proposals made should be in accordance with Section 6.7 of the NSW Addressing User Manual.
