STEAM into the Library for STEAM Club

STEAM into Lithgow Library for STEAM Club, a great new after school program from Lithgow Library that aims to bring together kids aged 8-14 for new and challenging STEAM based activities each week.

STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths – concepts which are vital to learning, and which are highly relevant and topical in today’s society. With STEAM Club we make learning fun and will hopefully inspire the next generation of scientists! There will be engineering challenges, LEGO build challenges and best of all experiments with coding and programming our new Ozobot mini robots.

It is through developing a child’s life-long love of learning that we raise educational aspirations that lead to better choices and more opportunities. “What a great way to develop a keen interest in all things STEAM,” said Lithgow City Council Mayor Stephen Lesslie. “A love of lifelong learning starts at your local Library, and we are very lucky to have so many exciting programs at Lithgow Library and branches.”

STEAM Club will begin on Wednesday 9 May 2018 and run from 4.00pm-4.45pm, at Lithgow Library. The program will run during school term only and is for children aged 8-14. Places are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.
