Still Time for Coal Heater Rebates

There is still time left this winter to replace your old coal heater and claim a Cash rebate through Lithgow Council’s Alternate Fuel Rebate Program.

Lithgow Council is reminding residents that there is still time to replace their old coal fired heater and receive a generous rebate to replace it with a cleaner form of heating.

Lithgow Deputy Mayor Ray Thompson said today “Rebates are $1,400 for pensioners, $1,000 for non pensioners and $2,000 for commercial premises who replace their old coal heaters with cleaner alternatives such as fixed electric heaters; fixed flue gas heaters; reverse cycle air conditioners; and ducted gas central heating.”

“To be eligible for a rebate you must be a ratepayer in the urban areas of Lithgow or village areas and currently use a coal heater to heat your home or business” the Deputy Mayor added.

Conditions of the program and application forms are available from Council’s website.

Improving local air quality forms part of the Enhancing our Natural Environment strategies in the Lithgow Community Strategic Plan 2026.
