Lithgow City Council’s priority is the health of our staff, and the health of our community, and we are focused on continuing to safely deliver essential services to the community.
From COB 25 March 2020 and until further notice, Council will cease to offer face-to-face Customer Service at the Lithgow Service Centre.
Customers can continue to contact Council by telephone or email. Customers can also complete an online enquiry form from Council’s website. Development applications can be lodged by email.

We understand these changes will cause some disruption to our community, but Council has made this difficult decision to reduce the risk faced by the vulnerable members of our community and to support the Federal and State government’s enhanced social distancing measures.
Staff will aim to respond to online enquiries within two working days by return email or a phone call. The following options are available for making payments:
- Telephone (press 1 to make a payment)
- Council’s website
- Direct debit payment arrangements can be made on Council’s website
- Council also has access to Centrepay which is an easy way to pay rates and charges through regular deductions from Centrelink payments.
Rates and Charges
To assist residents at this extraordinary time, Council will cease charging interest and defer any legal action relating to overdue rates & charges for a 6 month period. Council also encourages residents to set up arrangements to pay by direct debit via Council’s website. Centrepay is available for deductions from Centrelink payments.

Council’s suppliers are asked to note that Council is maintaining its regular payment of invoices.
After the current week, payments can only be made by EFT. Cheques will not be issued by Council until further notice.
Council takes advice on all public health matters from the State and Federal health departments and may need to update its response should the situation change.
