At the Ordinary Meeting of Council held on 27 October 2025 Council resolved to place proposed fees for sale and surrender of animals at the Lithgow Animal Shelter on public exhibition for a period of 28 days.
The proposal to increase fees has arisen due to a recent increase in supplier costs. The rise in costs has increased the gap between operational income and expenditure at the Lithgow Animal Shelter, thus the subsidy paid by ratepayers for the service.
