Lithgow City Council welcomed twelve new citizens at an Australian citizenship ceremony on Tuesday 2 May 2023.

The ceremony was held at Eskbank House Museum and saw Paul Toole MP, Member for Bathurst and Mayor, Councillor Maree Statham recognise the final stage in becoming Australian citizens.

“These new Australians pledged their loyalty to Australia and have taken an exciting step in showing their commitment to this nation and the Lithgow area, as well as the desire to share a common future.” said Lithgow City Council Mayor, Councillor Maree Statham.

“It is great to see the growing cultural diversity of Lithgow. We welcomed citizens from India, Ghana, Ethiopia, Britain, Canada, New Zealand, Pakistan, Vietnam and the Philippines.”

“I wish all of these new Australians the very best for the future and congratulate them on becoming Australian citizens.” concluded Mayor Statham.
