The Lithgow Local Government Area has suffered 9 disasters in recent years and Council is conducting a range of resilience building initiatives to help increase community strength and preparedness. One of these initiatives is assisting residents to create their own Person-Centred Emergency Plans (P-CEP) to help better prepare for disaster events, and therefore increase their overall safety. P-CEP workshops involve meeting residents in small group settings, discussing scenarios and individual or family circumstances and needs, and creating a written action plan for reference and guidance both before and during an emergency event. This initiative is provided free of charge to all residents and includes a free lunch.
