Lithgow Council is aware that in the past week some residents have received two versions of their water/sewerage usage account. This has caused confusion or concern for residents about which is the correct notice to pay.
At this point in time the Council understands that this issue was a failing on the part of a contractor that is used for billing services.
It has also become apparent that the first notice included incorrect B-PAY and Post Billpay biller codes. This error has occurred in batches of both print and digital water rates notices.
Customers are advised to check the B-Pay and Post Billpay number on both the notices. The correct account will have the B-Pay biller code 2154 and the Post Billpay biller code 0583.
Lithgow Council is working to understand the scope of this issue and apologises for any confusion or distress that this error may have caused.
With this issue being created by the contractor, ratepayers are assured that the Council will not accept costs associated with the incorrect distribution of the notices.
