Mayor Statham encourages local residents and visitors to shop local this Christmas holiday period!
For many businesses, the Christmas holiday period is an important time for trade. Lithgow City Council’s Mayor, Maree Statham suggests that this season, when considering gifts and planning events, residents should consider purchasing from local businesses.
“I am passionate about highlighting the fantastic products and services offered by Lithgow’s local business community,” said Mayor Statham. “It is the season of family, gift-giving and generosity. I ask that before you turn to alternatives outside our region, you pop into one of Lithgow’s own businesses first.”
“This is another opportunity to get to know your Main Street!”, continued Mayor Statham. “Having friends and family for an impromptu dinner? Consider takeaway from our local Thai, Chinese, pizza, or other fantastic takeaway options. Most will even deliver to you! Looking for gifts? There are several boutique shops which can help you find exactly what you’re looking for. Afterwards, why not stop in at a cafe for coffee and cake?”
“By shopping local, you’re ensuring money stays in the city. This supports local families and helps to ensure their Christmas is just as magical,” finished Mayor Statham. “It really is a virtuous circle. Please, shop local this Christmas!
