This morning, Council staff across multiple departments attended the annual Try-a-Trade event at Lithgow High School with representation from Council’s Water, Recreation, Human Resources, Transport, Communications and Aquatic Centre teams in attendance.
The day was a great opportunity for local students from year 9 to 12 to discuss potential career pathways with opportunities for work experience, traineeships and apprenticeships at Lithgow City Council.
Students got a chance to try their hand at plumbing by cutting and shaping pipes into lots of interesting configurations. Students also got to sit in the driver seat of some of Council’s heavy machinery including a tractor and slasher, backhoe and grader machines.
Events like Try- a-Trade Day present the opportunity for Lithgow City Council to showcase the diversity of jobs that the Council create in the Lithgow LGA and the opportunities available for the next generation.
The Council currently has a number of positions available if you or somebody you know would like to join our team please visit:
