NAIDOC Flag Raising

On behalf of Lithgow Council we warmly invite you to join us for our NAIDOC Week Flag Raising Ceremony as we come together to celebrate and recognise the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We would love to have your school leaders or a group of young people from your student body attend. The flag raising ceremony marks the beginning of our NAIDOC Week celebrations and provides an opportunity for our community to gather, reflect, and honour the strength and resilience of First Nations peoples.

The ceremony will include a Welcome to Country, the raising of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags, and an opportunity to connect with community members over light refreshments. We would be honoured by your presence as we celebrate this year’s NAIDOC Week and continue to walk together in the spirit of respect, recognition, and reconciliation.
