Barton Street, Lithgow – Parking Concerns

Council has received concerns from the community regarding parking and driving challenges experienced in Barton Street, Lithgow.

These concerns include:

  • Motorists driving in the middle of the road and on many occasions due to cars parked on either side of the road
  • Near misses occurring when vehicles have to swerve to avoid collisions with pedestrians walking on the road
  • Traffic restrictions when events are held at Tony Luchetti Sportsground, JM Robson Aquatic Centre, and / or Lithgow Basketball Stadium

Council is currently undertaking an investigation into the concerns raised, which will include technical assessments such as traffic counts and surveys, as well as seeking your feedback and comments.

Please complete the survey below. This survey is open to residents, employees / visitors to local businesses, sporting group participants and the general community.

Feedback is going to be accepted until 21 November 2025, and then a report detailing the feedback provided will be discussed by Local Transport Forum (LTF).  Council can provide advice to you on any further action to be taken once LTF have discussed the report (expected to be in December 2025) if you wish to be updated on the matter.
