Community Notification from Transport for NSW
Transport for NSW (Transport) will carry out maintenance work to improve safety for road users at multiple locations in the Lithgow region.
What work are we doing?
Work will include:
- installing new signs
- clearing vegetation
- line marking.
When and where we’ll be working
Work will be carried out at the following locations:
- Magpie Hollow Road, from Great Western Highway to Aldridge Park, South Bowenfels
- McKanes Falls Road, between Great Western Highway, South Bowenfels and Jenolan Caves Road, Hartley
- Glen Davis Road Capertee to Glen Davis
- Glen Alice Road, Rylstone to Glen Davis
- Upper Nile Road and Jamison Street near Glen Alice Public School, Glen Davis
- Sodwalls Road, between Hampton Road to the intersection of Tarana Road and Mutton Falls Road, Tarana
- Diamond Swamp Road and Hazelgrove Road, around the junction with Sodwalls Road Tarana.
We will work for up to 19 days and 6 nights between Monday 13 October and Friday 7 November 2025, weather permitting.
Day work hours will be between 7am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. Night work hours will be between 8pm and 5am, Sunday to Thursday
We will not work on Friday or Saturday nights.
What will this mean for you?
You may notice:
- workers and vehicles in the road corridor
- changed traffic conditions
- traffic controllers and signage in place
- noise from machinery and equipment.
Managing our impacts
We aim to manage our work to minimise disruption to the community and the environment. This includes:
- turning off equipment when not in use
- targeted lighting away from residents and motorists to minimise light spill
- reducing our noise as much as possible.
Traffic impacts
Roads will remain open while we work however for the safety of workers and road users there will be temporary traffic impacts during work hours. This includes lane closures, traffic control and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h.
