Weeds Management
Weeds of Lithgow
Weeds, both noxious and environmental, pose significant threats to agriculture, the environment, and society. The costs of weeds to agricultural lands include the loss of productive land as well as the financial costs associated with weed control. Impacts on natural ecosystems are varied but include potential impacts on aesthetic values, choking of waterways, loss or threatened loss of species through loss of habitat (both flora and fauna), and the high cost associated with weed control.
The booklet Weeds of the Lithgow District has been developed through a partnership of local agencies and organisations to provide an easily accessible resource on some of the weeds commonly found in the Lithgow area. The booklet provides information about the identification and control of the more common local noxious and environmental weeds.
