On Wednesday Mayor Cass Coleman and Deputy Mayor Steve Ring joined Director of Infrastructure and Economy Jonathon Edgecombe at the storm water pipe construction site currently active at Conran Oval.
Once completed the improvements will increase the stormwater system’s capacity to carry and hold stormwater and reduce the impact and frequency of flooding incidents in the area around George Coates Avenue.
Major investment in Lithgow’s stormwater infrastructure will help to limit pressure on the existing system, reduce flooding and enable future developments that can take advantage of a modernised stormwater system.

Access to the path will be restricted between the section of the path closest to George Coates Ave and the rear of the cricket nets, it is expected that these disruptions will continue for another three weeks, weather pending.
