New Life for Old Toys, Creativity and Sustainability at the 2025 Lithgow Waste 2 Art Exhibition.

On Friday evening Lithgow City Council proudly hosted the 2025 Waste 2 Art Awards Ceremony for our region at the Union Theatre Gallery, celebrating the creativity and ingenuity of the local community in transforming waste into art.

Waste 2 Art, an annual initiative led by regional waste group NetWaste, encourages residents to rethink rubbish by creating artworks from reused and recycled materials.

This year’s theme Year of Toys focused on the environmental impact of toys, inviting artists to reclaim and reimagine discarded playthings into new and exciting objects.
