Lithgow Adventure Playground opened in early 2019, and is one of the best things to happen for the children and families of Lithgow in recent years.
Centrally located and close to many local amenities and sites of cultural and heritage interest, the playground is uniquely Lithgow. Designed by award winning playground designer Ric Mcconaghy, its theme acknowledges Lithgow’s long industrial history as the birthplace of the Australian iron and steel industry, its proud history of mining and power generation – and its beautiful natural landscapes.
This all abilities adventure playground provides fun, safe, interesting and unstructured play areas for all children and a great place for parents to relax.
The playground’s centrepiece is a custom-made 6 metre high two level climbing tower in the style of a mining poppet head. A double mouse wheel, flying fox, climbing walls, water play features and much more will ensure there is plenty to do for children of all ages.
The playground includes BBQ’s, picnic shelters and accessible toilets.
Head to the nearby Lithgow Visitor Information Centre to be inspired about the multitude of things to see and do in and around Lithgow.
