Mattresses and Tyres
All mattresses, bases, ensembles and tyres are to be taken to the Lithgow Solid Waste Facility.
Mattresses, bases, ensembles and tyres are not accepted at any of the Rural Landfills or Transfer Stations.
Fees and Charges for Mattresses and Tyres
Mattresses, bases, ensembles and tyres are recycled. There is a charge for recycling and residents are charged for some of the cost and Council covers the rest of the cost.
The current fees and charges are available on the Council website under Waste and Recycling – Lithgow Solid Waste Facility fees and charges.
The Lithgow Solid Waste Facility only accepts payment by card and cannot accept payment by cash or cheque.
The charge can be paid at the Gatehouse on entry or exit.
How to Dispose of Mattresses and Tyres
Mattresses, bases, ensembles and tyres are to be taken to the Lithgow Solid Waste Facility.
When entering the weighbridge at the Lithgow Solid Waste Facility, please stop and advise the Gatehouse Operator that you are disposing of mattresses, bases, ensembles or tyres or both and the quantities.
The facility has a cage for mattresses, bases & ensembles and a cage for tyres. Follow signage on site.
The mattresses, bases, ensembles and tyres must be disposed of in the correct cage.
Bulky Waste Cleanup Service
A total of two mattresses, bases or ensembles per residence and total of 5 tyres can be disposed of through Council’s Bulky Waste Cleanup service. There is no charge for this service for those residents who have a kerbside collection service. This service is offered twice in a calendar year.
