Green Waste Cleanup
Lithgow Council offers a scheduled Green Waste Cleanup service twice a year on nominated dates only.
How do I arrange a collection?
Please note, the service is only available to those residents who have a weekly garbage collection service.
To register phone Council on 6354 9999 or complete the form on this page by 12 noon on the THURSDAY before the collection date.
On the SUNDAY NIGHT of the collection week, simply put your materials at the kerbside where you leave your mobile garbage bin.
Material left for collection will be removed on either the Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday following the collection date.

Guidelines for Collection of Green waste
Council will pick up:
- Garden prunings…no longer than 2 metres, not thicker than 200mm and tied in bundles.
- Weight limit of 16 kilograms for each bundle or box.
- Quantity of 1 cubic metre (about 4 wheelie bins) for each collection
*Please note, bagged lawn clippings and leaves are no longer collected in this Green Waste Clean-Up due to plastic contamination.
Lawn clippings and leaves can be placed in your green ‘FOGO’ bin which is collected every week. Please remember that plastic and plastic bags cannot go into the green FOGO bin.
Lawn clippings and leaves can also be delivered to the Lithgow Solid Waste Facility or composted at home

Residents are reminded that the form will close at 12.00 noon the THURSDAY before the scheduled collection date.
Please note:
Bagged lawn clippings and leaves are no longer collected due to plastic contamination. These can be composted at home, placed in your waste bin or delivered to Lithgow Solid Waste Facility.
