Recycling Locations in Lithgow LGA

The Resource Recover Centre and Community Recycling Centre are located within the Lithgow Solid Waste Facility.

The address is:

Lithgow

Entry is from 8am – 4.45pm, 7 days a week.
The facility is closed on Good Friday and Christmas day.

When you arrive, please follow the traffic signals to drive onto the weighbridge.
Stop at the intercom on the weighbridge and press the button to talk to the operator.
The operator will guide you to the correct area.

Please bring proof of residence, such as a rates notice or driver licence.

Residents can dispose of domestic quantities of the following items free of charge, except for mattresses, mattresses bases, and tyres which do have a charge.

    • Domestic Recycling Bin – Cardboard without food scraps can be placed in your domestic recycling bin.

    AA, AAA, C, D, 9V, 6V lantern,

    • Wallerawang Library – 40 Main St, Wallerawang
    Mattresses and mattress bases
    • Lithgow Solid Waste Facility – Place in the cage marked “Mattresses”.
    • Lithgow Solid Waste Facility is the only facility that accepts mattresses and mattress bases. Mattresses and mattress bases cannot be disposed of at any other Council waste facility.
    Metal
    • Lithgow Solid Waste Facility – Place in the cage marked “Scrap metal”.
    • Portland Garbage Depot – Place in the scrap metal pile.
    • Wallerawang Garbage Depot – Place in the scrap metal pile.
    Mobile Phones

      • Lithgow Solid Waste Facility – Place in the box located at the gatehouse.

      Tyres
      • Resource Recovery Centre
      • Lithgow Resource Recovery Centre is the only facility that accepts tyres. Tyres cannot be disposed of at any other Council waste facility
      White Goods, including refrigerators,
      washing machines, dryers and dishwashers
      • Lithgow Solid Waste Facility – place in the cage marked “White Goods”.

      Note – Bottles and cardboard can also go into your domestic recycling bin
